The St. Kitts and Nevis Chess Federation was formed in 2019 to promote chess on the two islands. Its patron is Sir Dennis Byron, retired president of the Caribbean Court of Justice.
The first years were hard: a 2020 FIDE report noted the economic and social challenges of a new, small federation. The work continues with schools and coaching.
